Get AI to Recommend Your Business — Frequently and Favorably.
When customers ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok which business to choose, we help AI recommend yours.
In short
Echo Tuner is a digital marketing agency that specializes in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — like SEO, but for the answers AI writes. We check what AI assistants say about your business, fix what's missing on your website and across the web, and keep checking.
Audit & Plan $2,500 once, or included with monitoring from $2,500 a quarter.
- Five AI providers, 19 models
- Evidence behind every finding
- No long-term contract
Customers no longer search. They ask — and AI chooses who to recommend.
When your web presence is structured so AI can understand it, AI recommends you more often — and speaks about you more favorably.
The more detail a customer gives, the fewer businesses AI names.
-
1Broad question
“Who does bookkeeping for small businesses near me?”
AI names 6 bookkeepers
- Harbor & Finch
- Tern & Tally
- Copperpine
- Quillmoor
- Larkfield
- Owlbrook
Every firm whose website says it does bookkeeping in the area is named.
-
2More specific
“Which bookkeepers near me also run payroll?”
AI names 3 bookkeepers · 3 drop out
- Harbor & Finch
- Tern & Tally
- Copperpine
Quillmoor— not namedLarkfield— not namedOwlbrook— not named
Three firms drop out: their websites never mention payroll, so the AI can't tell.
-
3Detailed request
“I run a 20-person restaurant. Which bookkeeper near me can handle our payroll and sales tax, and what do they charge?”
AI names 1 — its top pick
- Harbor & FinchTop pick
Tern & Tally— not namedCopperpine— not namedQuillmoor— not namedLarkfield— not namedOwlbrook— not named
One firm left — the only one whose website says it works with restaurants and lists its monthly price.
Customers ask the detailed question when they are ready to choose — and that is where most businesses drop out. Harbor & Finch Bookkeeping stayed in because its own website states the facts the customer asked about. We find the questions you drop out of, and the facts your pages are missing.
Why it matters
Why does it matter what AI says about your business?
More and more customers ask an AI assistant before they visit a website. The assistant answers with a short list of businesses — often with sources — built from pages it can read and facts it can check. If your website never states your prices, your service area or what is included, the AI takes those details from someone else, or leaves you out.
- Named, or left out. For many questions an assistant names only a handful of businesses. We record which ones, for the questions your customers actually ask.
- Cited, or someone else is the source. When an answer cites a directory or a competitor instead of your page, it repeats their description of you.
- Described accurately, or not. A confident answer can still get your price, location or services wrong. We check what each AI says against what your own pages state.
- Recommended warmly, or mentioned in passing. Being named isn't the same as being chosen. An answer can make you its top pick, recommend you among several options, or mention you in a trailing clause — we record which, for every answer.
How often does AI name you, service by service?
Your citation rate is the share of AI answers that name your business. We measure it over hundreds of customer questions for each service you offer, on each AI assistant — because a business can lead for one service and be almost invisible for the next.
Illustrative example · based on patterns in real results
Two companies. The same four services. Very different results in AI answers.
In this example, 5 AI assistants are asked 200 customer questions about each service — 4,000 answers — and we count how often each company is named. Beside each result: our GEO audit score of that company's page for the service.
- Brambleford Home ServicesIts website has a full page for each of the four services.
- Quaywell Plumbing & HeatingIts website has a full page for plumbing repair only. The other three services get one line.

1Plumbing repairQuaywell leads — its one full page

- QuaywellFull web page 72% 8.6

2Water heaters
- BramblefordFull web page 61% 7.9
- QuaywellOne line only 18% 1.8

3Drain cleaning
- BramblefordFull web page 57% 7.6
- QuaywellOne line only 11% 1.5
-
4Heating & cooling
- BramblefordFull web page 49% 7.1
- QuaywellOne line only 7% 1.2
Same services, same AI assistants — the page made the difference. Quaywell's plumbing repair page scores 8.6 out of 10, and AI names it in 72% of plumbing repair answers, ahead of Brambleford. Its other three services get one line on its website, score 1.2–1.8, and are named in only 7–18% of answers.

| Service | Bramblefordnamed · page score | Quaywellnamed · page score |
|---|---|---|
| Plumbing repair | 54% · 7.4 | 72% · 8.6 |
| Water heaters | 61% · 7.9 | 18% · 1.8 |
| Drain cleaning | 57% · 7.6 | 11% · 1.5 |
| Heating & cooling | 49% · 7.1 | 7% · 1.2 |
That is what an audit looks for in your business: the services AI names you for, the ones it leaves you out of, and what your pages are missing for each. Monitoring then shows how those numbers move.
Why does tone matter?
Because customers act on the business an answer recommends, not just the ones it names. In our case study of two well-known caregiver marketplaces, we asked AI assistants the same customer questions and recorded how each answer spoke about each business — from top pick to not named at all.
How warmly AI spoke about two well-known caregiver marketplaces
The same 12 customer questions, asked to Claude, ChatGPT and Google's AI — 34 answers, June 2026.
- Top pick
- Recommended
- Favourable aside
- Passing mention
- Not named
Marketplace ANamed in 21 of 34 answers · top pick in 8
Marketplace BNamed in 12 of 34 answers · top pick in 0
See the numbers
| Tone | Marketplace A | Marketplace B |
|---|---|---|
| Top pickNamed first, as the answer's main recommendation | 8 | 0 |
| RecommendedRecommended, alongside other options | 6 | 9 |
| Favourable asideSpoken of warmly, but not recommended | 4 | 1 |
| Passing mentionNamed in passing, without a view | 3 | 2 |
| Not namedLeft out of the answer | 13 | 22 |
Marketplace A was the top pick in 8 answers. Marketplace B was never the top pick: it was recommended among several options 9 times and left out of 22 of the 34 answers. In these answers, the warmest sentences repeated specific facts from the marketplace's own pages — prices, background checks, what's included. That is why our plans start with the facts on your pages, and why every monitoring check reports tone, not just mentions.
